Master Yu reveals the hidden "content" in the Tai Chi movements, as she describes the "Invisible Shadow". The Invisible Shadow is a hidden force acting against each movement in the Tai Chi form. When you are pressing the palms down, the shadow acts like a piece of wood that you are trying to press under water. When you are pressing up, the shadow acts as if it has a rubber band attaching it to the ground. When you are warding off, the shadow stands in your way. When you are rolling back, the shadow is playing tug-of-war. This invisible resistance gives feeling to each movement of the Tai Chi form. It is the intention of the mind that gives the Qi it's motive force. It is this concentrated intention that separates the beginner from the skilled Tai Chi practitioner.
